Melissa Thompson

Artist

Melissa Thompson, founder of Salem Farm Market and a local artist. After receiving her Art Degree in 2009, she put her footprint in Salem, OH in 2014. Creating several window installations in the community from a quaint bookstore on State St. to the flower shop down the road. Even larger scale murals for Salem & Damascus Friends Churches, as well as McCullough Park. She then taught a year of Art at Salem Public Schools. Currently continuing her art career while using things in nature as her Medium. Through her love of gardening, she has learned to intertwine her passions of botony and fiber arts. Melissa’s knowledge in bast fibers can be seen throughout the community garden as she tries to create awareness of creativity through a fiber garden and a natural loom to interact with.
